March 11, 2016

Previously:

Dr. Ivan's tells Fernan that his son his safe. A lot of flashbacks from yesterday's scenes.

During the wedding reception, Billy, Ryan and Junior have a pictorial. Ryan asks Junior how he feels. Billy asks his nephew if he was okay with Carmen and Joaquin's marriage. Junior replies he feels sad now that he will live in Papa Toms. Billy explains to him that's how marriage is. Junior asks if Cardo can still be his dad. Billy assures him Cards can still be.

Joaquin interrupts their conversation and tells them there's nothing to worry about. He will take care of Junior. Dino jokes that Billy might finally have a new nephew coming soon.

Concerned, Edgar asks Carmen if he needs to talk to Thomas. Norma tells her daughter she shouldn't have married soon and talked it over to iron problems with Thomas. Carmen just shrugs and tells them there's no need to. Norma asks if Carmen is alright. Carmen, wearing another sad expression, nods to her mom.

Joaquin stands up and makes a speech how happy he is to be accepted as part of Carmen's family. He asks Carmen to join him and makes a toast to their union. The Guzmans and Junior don't look happy. Carmen looks at Junior when everyone urge them to kiss. Junior just nods at him mom, and Joaquin leans to kiss Carmen.

(To make it easier, throughout the scenes, Carmen never wears a genuinely happy face. Laging malungkot. Yung tipong nagpepretend na masaya, pero hindi pala)

On the roof deck overlooking the city, Dino, Greg and Joaquin talk about how suave he was with Junior. "Pakitang gilas ka kanina ha." Joaquin tells them it was just for the show, and we can hear his monologue that he will separate Junior from Cardo's family---especially Cardo.

(Actually, I wasn't sure if if was a roof deck. Basta overlooking lang ang view)

Glen casually tells Cardo she almost thought he and Carmen would become a couple. Cardo looks at her as if a a truck hit her. "What are you saying? She's the wife of my brother."

Greg and Dino congratulate Joaquin because "Naalasan sina Ador and Cardo", but goad him with the question: "What if Carmen still loves Cardo"

"I don't know with you, but as a woman, I knew and felt that Carmen had feelings for you." Glen tells Cardo.

But Cardo is oblivious to the truth and replies. "That's impossible. Besides I have high respects for Ador. She doesn't love. She's now married to Joaquin, and I'm sure they love each other. She's just nice to me."

Glen steals a glance from him. *"If you only knew how jealous I was of Carmen, Cardo."

(*welcome to Joaquin's club Glen! Internal monologue na ang peg natin ngayon ah!)

Carmen is standing outside, looking over the the view. Joaquin appears and asks how she's doing. He gives her a glass of champagne. "Cheers to the Mr. and Mrs. Tuazon!". The couple drink and he asks his wife what she's thinking. Carmen replies she's thinking of what will happen tomorrow. Joaquin tells her he has always waited for this moment to arrive. Carmen says she has always seen his efforts. They hug one another and Joaquin gives her a kiss.

In Carmen and Junior's room, Norma tells Junior Joaquin will give him lots of toys. She adds they will see each other. Junior takes his family picture with Ador and tells his grandparents he will bring it along to their new house.

Inside their suite, Carmen tells Joaquin to stop drinking. He joins her on their matrimonial bed, cups her face with his hand and creepily looks at her as he says the following words. "Mula ngayon, akin ka na. Akin."

As he squeezes his hold, Carmen removes his hand. "Of course, I agreed to marry you."

But Joaquin adds horror to their conversation. "That means there will be no other people in our family--- not even Lola Flora. This time, I will be the one who will be followed." Joaquin kisses Carmen on the forehead, as she tries to register and process what Joaquin has told her.

Carmen lies on her back as Joaquin leans to kiss....and make love to her.

(shortened it. I don't want to describe this. Ahhhhh! Nakakainis!)

After they're done with "it", Joaquin returns to his side of the bed, looking smug. Carmen looks unsure.

(are you unsure that you made the right decision, now that you've caught a glimpse of how much of a psychopath Joaquin is?)

Verna hugs and thanks Thomas. He tells Cita to prepare the guest room as Junior's new bedroom. Verna asks why Thomas changed his mind. He replies that her promise did, Verna can't control her happiness and hugs him.

Carmen blankly stares as she sips her hot drink. Joaquin comes out of the bathroom to kiss and greet her good morning. Carmen tries to broach what Joaquin told her last night, but he cuts her off to tell good news---they can finally stay at their house. Carmen asks about Thomas. He tells her it was his dad himself who told his mom she was welcome to their house. But Carmen tells him if that was true, his father should have been the one to call him. He tells her how much pride his dad has. Carmen doesn't want to move, but Joaquin, with enthusiasm, convinces her.

As Joaquin loads their luggage to his car, the Guzmans, Carmen and Junior talk how they will still be seeing each other. Carmen tells her brothers to take care of their parents. Junior asks if they can stay at the Guzmans, but Joaquin tells him he will be very happy in their new home. They bid farewell and the Tuazons drive away.

Lola Flora sees to children outside her house and asks where their parents are. The children tell her they were looking for an open sari-sari store. Lola reminds them not to leave without adult supervision. Cardo comes in and repeats what Lola has mentioned. She invites the two to eat and will have them be escorted to their homes.

The Tuazons finally arrive at Joaquin's home. Amid the ruckus Verna, Cita and Rachel are giving them, Junior asks his mom if they will really live there. Rachel tells him to call her "ate" instead of "Tita". Verna happily tells Junior that she finally has a grandchild, kisses him on the forehead and promises him how much fun he'll have. Cita introduces herself and promises to take care of him. Junior thanks her, but tells her "Okay lang kung si nanay na." Verna tells the boy to call him "Momsy". She then tells him that they prepared a new room for him.

"Room?" he asks. "That means I won't be able to sleep beside my mom?"

Joaquin tells Junior he's already a big boy. Carmen asks Verna where Thomas is. She replies he's busy entertaining a business call. Joaquin thanks his mom and hugs her. Verna whispers her thanks now that he has finally returned home.

Cardo thanks Lola Flora for keeping the children safe. Onyok asks if Junior will be safe too. Benny exclaims how can Junior be in danger when Joaquin has such a large house. Lola tells Cardo that Norma called earlier. Carmen and Junior have transferred residences to Joaquin's home. Onyok quips that "Iba ang protection ni Kuya Cardo".

Billy and Cardo are inside the hospital talking about which family to investigate to. Cardo suggests they start with a family whose kid has liver cirrhosis. Billy recalls the kid's family owns a toy company. Just then, the parents walk out. Cardo suggests they follow them.

Rachel asks Junior if he likes his new room. She brings him one of Joaquin's old toys and hopes he will be happy. The two play toys with each other.

Inside their bedroom, Joaquin assures Carmen will enjoy their new home. The couple hug, and Carmen still wears the same expression she wore on her wedding day.

Verna informs Thomas that Carmen looked for him. Thomas explains his side. He only accepted her so that Verna could monitor her movements. "Why should I welcome her? Besides, she won't stay long."

(what does that mean?)

Cardo and Billy follow the couple who pray in the church. The two formulate speculations that they might have chosen the church as a meeting place with the syndicate to make the transaction unnoticeable.

Ivan is having a conversation with two of his medical team. One of them asks where the kid is, and Ivan tells them to wait because someone will get him. Fernan appears and tells the Doctor he was unable to get the child because Thomas' men heavily guarded him. Ivan is fuming and shouts at Fernan. "Tao kita!" exclaiming he should have done something.

Cardo and Billy continue to observe the couple as a choir practices in the church. The couple begins to cry, hoping God will answer their prayers. Cardo realizes and tells Billy they're following the wrong couple. He believes that couple could never transact with syndicates.

Rachel and Junior are lying down on his bed. She hopes he will like her books. Junior tells he has already read the story about hansel and gretel. Carmen visits her kid and Rachel leaves. They begin to unpack his luggage. Carmen sees her family picture with Ador and Lola Flora. Unlucky for her, Joaquin chooses this moment to appear in Junior's room and sees her holding the picture frame. Carmen looks at him, strongly fixated on the frame in her hands.

Cita and Verna discuss what Thomas might do to drive Carmen away from the house.  Cita makes fun of Verna on what she will do to placate her Joaquin. But Verna tells Cita she will do anything to make sure Joaquin stays. Cita asks Verna what happens if Carmen discovers their secret.

Joaquin asks what they are looking at and picks the frame from Carmen's hands. His mouth forms a grim line as he sees Ador's face. He tells Junior to hide the photo. Junior innocently asks why. "Tatay ko naman siya." Joaquin notices that Junior is holding more pictures his previous family. Like a bully, he sntaches the photos and walks away. Junior looks frantic and asks Joaquin where he will take his photos. Joaquin stops and tells him Carmen will hide them. Carmen is shocked as she witnesses the entire exchange. She soothes her son that he will hide his pictures.

At Camp Crame, Cardo, together with Billy and his team discuss about the families they have followed. All of them have followed the wrong families. "They're unlikely to kill someone just for their children's safety. Mark presents the case of a girl named Mara, who was found blind and begging along the streets. The child is currently under the protection of the DSWD. They suspect the girl's corneas were harvested for transplant.

The Tuazon family gather at the dining table. Thom appears! Rachel is happy and comments that they are complete. Junior asks why and exclaims that with his previous family (the Guzmans or the De Leons) they are always complete for dinner. Bam! Bam! Junior's comments unsettle the Tuazon household, especially Thomas and Joaquin.

Rachel suggests they have a vacation in their rest house in Batangas, but Junior, much to Joaquin and Thomas chagrin, prefers to stay with Kuya Cardo.

"Let's eat!"

Junior interrups. "Wait. Aren't we going to pray first?"

Rachel looks at him."We don't usually do that, but maybe we should do it now!" She looks around her family."Isn't that right?"

(Uh-oh, Joaquin and Thomas don't look good)

Junior leads the prayer, but instead of saying thanks for his new family, he prays for the safety of Cardo, Lola Flora, Benny, Billy and his family from the De Leons and Guzmans.

(My God, if there's something worthwhile to watch in this episode, it's THIS! ONE You will definitely love the expressions on Thomas and Joaquin's faces! It's fleeting, but it feels good to see Joaquin hurt, right?)

Billy and Cardo are talking to a DSWD staff. They ask whether the kids are returned to their parents. Some are and some aren't. A staff brings Mara to them. She does not respond to Cardo's introduction and question. According to the Psychiatrist, the staff tells them that Mara has become unresponsive due to the trauma she experienced. Cardo hugs the child, feeling sorry for her.
